First BUSHSCOUT.UK course at Danemead

BUSHSCOUT.UK recently held it's first National Skills Day at the campsite.

The campsite, which is a triple SSI woodland, has over recent months forged a close partnership with the group was thrilled to welcome over thirty five adults.  The adults, with a wide range of Scouting experience, spent a weekend been up skilled in fire lighting,  knife safety, axe and saw use, game preparation, tarpology, camp cooking and pioneering. Thanks to BUSHSCOUTS.UK are now ready to go deliver some awesome #skills for life sessions for young people around the UK!

During the day another three Bushscout Scarfs were awarded to another three members of the team who had been on a journey over the last two years learning their bases and the day was their first time delivering them independently and they all smashed it!

The participants had nothing but praise for the day,

"Thank you, felt like a scout again. I just hope I can produce the same enthusiasm and interest when I get to show the scouts."

"For me this was one of the best skills experiences. I would definately recomend this course to others"

Matt, site manager at Danemead commented,

"This weekend finally brings a vision which was spoke about two years ago. Bushscout sand Danemead Scout Campsite, working side by side as partners. Delivering the very core routes of scouting. I could not be more proud of everyone involved."
