Owned and managed by four Scout districts and run solely by volunteers, Danemead is dedicated to getting everyone interacting with nature from all walks of life.

We look forward to seeing you.”

Could you be one of our future crew members?

  • Does the idea of running a campsite appeal to you?
  • Does providing a safe space for young people to learn skills for life and experience the joy of the outdoors appeal to you?
  • Are you looking for new challenges in your Scouting journey?
  • Do you enjoy working as part of a team?
  • Do you have DIY and organisation skills, or simply just love working outdoors?

Did you answer yes to any of the above? Then maybe being part of our crew is the next move for you? You can apply as a single member or as a small team of people.

Just let us have a few details and we will be in touch. It would be great if you can let us know a little bit about yourself too.

Crew work day on site. Oiling shingles for the new roof area where our outdoor washing area will eventually live. New beech hedging going in to complement our new sleeper walls. All the excess soil has been used to fill in holes along the main walking routes. Old gas cylinder concrete base has finally been broken up and returned back to nature. All weathers seen today. Fab work day Matt ✌️ ... See MoreSee Less
After Several years of amazing service our current secretary is stepping down for a well deserved rest and some relaxation time. I’m sure he would disagree 😅This means we have an opening on our executive committee for a secretary role (voluntary). This means you get to come and be part of the madness that is our quarterly Exec meetings with quality tea and coffee. Sometimes we even get biscuits. The arguments are always passionate and for the good of the campsite and everyone eventually agrees to what I want 😬So, fancy a new exciting role in scouting? Send us a message! Meetings are held at the campsite every three months at 19:30 and are around 2hrs. Role involves minutes taking and occasionally letters sent out to our partners or to whoever we’ve upset generally ☺️COME JOIN OUR AWESOME TEAM Matt ✌️ ... See MoreSee Less
