Danemead Scout Campsite is pleased to announce that as from the 1st January 2019 the first five adult leaders camping with any Scout, voluntary youth organisation or school will camp for free.
Whilst our camping fees will increase for the first time in several years the net effect means that most Groups will not notice any change in the overall camping cost.
Alongside the increase in camp fees we are also increasing the cost to hire our indoor accommodation to reflect the improvements completed over the last two years to the kitchen and three of the bedrooms. This increase will also enable the site to complete the exciting changes that we have planned for the rest of the building a lot more quickly.
These changes include; refurbishment to the remaining three bedrooms, the addition of a toilet/wet room and a brand new leaders lounge and sleeping area situated away from the main bunk rooms.
With the addition of central heating throughout and improvements to the main hall including audio visual equipment and internet access for film nights and training courses the accommodation will be available 52 weeks a year, generating a steady stream of income enabling the site to improve the facilities on offer without losing sight that Danemead provides a unique opportunity for young people to experience back to basics residential experiences in a safe and welcoming environment.
