About the Site
Danemead is conveniently located in Hertfordshire, within easy reach of London and the Home Counties. It is set in 34 acres of mature unspoilt woodland, and part of the adjoining Broxbourne woods. The site has been granted the status of a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
We have a fully furnished toilet block, campfire and well stocked providore. A warden is on site every weekend during the main camping season.
There are numerous camping sites of varying sizes amidst the trees or on the hillside amongst the bracken. Campfires are allowed on all sites at Danemead on altar fires that can be borrowed from the site, but not on the ground as this can cause underground peat fires.
Uncle Tom’s Cabin is the indoor accommodation at Danemead and has sleeping accommodation for up to 24 people in bunk rooms (2 x 6 beds + 3 x 4 beds)
